Exploring Ireland’s West in our Latest Wild Atlantic Discovery Challenge

You want to experience Ireland and all its beauty whilst taking part in a fun and cultural group programme. You may have heard about one of Ireland’s top attractions, but are you ready to experience it in real life? The Wild Atlantic Way is Ireland’s great treasure, filled with non-stop breathtakingly stunning views and scenery.

On 9th December 2018, 16 Top UK Conference and Event Organisers on a FAM Trip with Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau took part in our Wild Atlantic Discovery Challenge. The Wild Atlantic Way coastal tour route stretches for 2,500 km along the west of Ireland and every bit of it is filled with beauty. The Wild Atlantic Way has been said to be Ireland’s answer to Route 66 in America or the Garden Route in South Africa.

Kicking off this Discovery Challenge delegates were picked up from Trump International Hotel in Doonbeg. Each team was supplied with iPads enroute, to answer fun questions as they take in the stunning Atlantic coastline scenery. They were then chauffeured by Orangeworks drivers in Land Rovers to their first stop at Spanish Point. Individuals arrived at an artisan pop-up food tasting station which served organic Atlantic smoked salmon and brown bread. The group took in the stunning views whilst enjoying some local food before taking off again to their next checkpoint.

Delegates then made their way to Ireland’s most Instagrammed location, the Cliffs of Moher, where they took part in local cheese and sloe gin tasting. Individuals walked along the cliffs and took part in photo challenges surrounded by beautiful scenic sights. Afterwards, everyone made their way to the bottom of the cliffs to learn how to make a hot Irish whiskey, bushcraft style on the shore.

They finished up at the Cliffs and were transferred to Gus O’Connor’s Pub in Doolin for a well-earned pint. Delegates were given some time to enjoy their drinks and have the craic before hitting the road again.

Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau’s Discovery Challenge finished up at the Savoy Hotel in Limerick.

Our on-road treasure hunts can be built for any destination in Ireland, and one of our favourite locations is the Wild Atlantic Way. Orangeworks drivers will pick your group up from your hotel or venue and will be your chauffeur for the day in our high-end vehicles.

This is a completely bespoke experience that is designed to leave your group with lasting memories of Ireland! Orangeworks Wild Atlantic Discovery Challenge is a rewarding experience for those who have worked hard to reach their targets. Explore Ireland from a different angle; take part in some traditional games, taste the local food and sip some whiskey, gin or beers.
